Botox & Fillers

BOTOX® and Dysport® are used in for a wide range of treatments including: wrinkle reduction on face and neck, facial sculpting (lifting eyebrows and more), and facial contouring (creating a more triangular face and creating definition to cheekbones). Most clients do require a combination of a neuromodulator and Dermal Fillers.

Your needs will be best addressed during a complimentary consultation with us.

Cosmetic Injectables

Comparing BOTOX and Dysport is like comparing Coke to Pepsi.

Both are neuromodulators which mean they relax muscles. BOTOX is manufactored by Allergan and Dysport is made by Galderma. At Phoenix Medical Spa we primarily use Dysport unless requested to use Botox for medical purposes.

One injection. Five points.

Dysport treats moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows by reducing specific muscle activity. Wrinkles are caused by repeated movements and muscle contractions, which means they can even develop in younger adults. One injection into each of 5 points between and above the eyebrows temporarily prevents muscle contractions that cause frown lines, leaving the rest of your face to move naturally. In other words, no frozen look, just natural-looking results. You can control your look instead of your look controlling you.

Forget frown lines between the eyebrows for up to 4 months.

You’ve got better things to do than think about what your frown lines look like. The majority of users* see improvement in just 2–3 days after treatment. Since not everyone is the same, we cannot guarantee that everything will notice an improvement after just a few days. For optimal results we suggest waiting 2 weeks. It is also safe to come back for re-treatment after 2 weeks if you feel that you’d like more for a relaxed look. In studies with Dysport the average longevity was 4 months. Once again everyone is different, the strength of everyone’s muscles differ as well as the rate in which Dysport is metabolized. Some people may need touch ups more frequently than others.

Do not take dysport if you:

  • Are allergic to Dysport or any of the ingredients in Dysport.
  • Are allergic to cow’s milk protein or wasp venom
  • Had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product, such as Myobloc® (rimabotulinumtoxinB), Botox®(onabotulinumtoxinA) or Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA)
  • Have a skin infection at the planned injection site

Dysport may not be right for you if:

  • You have had surgical changes to your face
  • You have very weak muscles in the treatment area
  • Your face looks very different from side to side
  • The injection site is inflamed
You have droopy eyelids or sagging eyelid folds
  • You have deep facial scars You have thick, oily skin
  • Your wrinkles can’t be smoothed by spreading them apart

The only way to know for sure if Dysport is right for you is to speak with our Certified Injector.

BOTOX For Excessive Sweating

Botox neurotoxin is a purified protein that helps control sweating by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands, thereby preventing sweat from being produced in the treatment area.

After the Botox® injections have been administered, sweating is usually controlled for 6 to 8 months. On average, repeat treatments are required every 6 months as the effects begin to diminish.

Our trained physicians ensure that there is minimal to no pain during the injections, although you may experience some injection related discomfort.

The length of treatment depends on the area being treated. On average, the treatments are completed in 10 to 20 minutes.

The reduction in sweating begins to take effect in the first few days, but it may take up to 1 week to reach full effectiveness.

Side effects, if they occur, are temporary. These commonly include minor bruising and swelling at the injection site. We have also observed that there can be temporary weakening of the fine muscles of the hands in some individuals who have had injections in the palms. Other reported side effects include dry mouth, tiredness, headache, neck pain, and dry eyes.

There are very few restrictions regarding Botox® treatments for Hyperhidrosis. Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a known neurological disorder (i.e. Myasthenia Gravis or Eaton Lambert Syndrome), allergy to the ingredients in the botulinum toxin formulation, specifically albumin, should not be treated.
